The Center for Eye Health originated in 1949 when Fall River native, Paul P. Dunn, MD, opened his eye practice at the Truesdale Clinic. The practice expanded when Herbert S. Rubin, MD joined the Truesdale Clinic in 1965. The group expanded further when Joseph J. Levy, MD, the first vitreoretinal trained ophthalmologist in Southeastern Massachusetts, joined in 1987. Since those early days, the Center for Eye Health has continued to grow in order to meet the needs of the community for exceptional eye care.
The eye care specialists at the Center for Eye Health work together as a team of ophthalmologists, eye surgeons and optometrists who provide services for the management and treatment of cataracts, glaucoma, cornea, retina, pediatric eye care, and eyelid plastic surgery. We also provide routine eye care and contact lens services.
When choosing an eye doctor, especially an eye surgeon for any type of eye surgery, it is important to make an informed choice based on the qualifications, training and experience of your eye doctor.
All of our ophthalmologists are fellowship trained and our optometrists are highly qualified to provide you with exceptional eye care. Additionally, Drs. Paul E. Beade, Johnny Tang, Joseph J. Levy and John Donahue were included in the 2022 America’s Top Doctors® list.
Please take a moment to review the credentials and areas of interest of our eye doctors and we will be pleased to assist in scheduling an appointment with the doctor of your choice.
